Oven cleaning — your questions answered

From greasy grime to sparkling finish — everything about our professional oven valet service

Like-new oven without the elbow grease

Prices typically range from £50 for a standard single oven up to £130 for a large double oven or range cooker. The average cost is around £75. Factors affecting price include: oven type (single, double, range, AGA), level of baked-on grime, accessibility, and whether you need additional services like extractor fan cleaning or hob polishing. We offer fixed pricing with no hidden fees — you'll know the exact cost before we start. Multi-appliance discounts available (oven + hob + extractor).

A standard single oven typically takes 60–90 minutes. Double ovens or range cookers can take 2–3 hours. The exact time depends on the oven's condition — a lightly used oven might be done in 45 minutes, while a heavily neglected one with years of baked-on grease could take 2 hours. Our technician will assess your oven on arrival and give you a realistic timeframe. We don't rush the job; we stay until your oven is spotless. You're welcome to go about your day while we work.

You can start cooking immediately after we finish. However, we recommend running the oven empty at 200°C for 15 minutes before cooking food. This allows any residual moisture from the cleaning process to evaporate and burns off any trace amounts of cleaning solution. You might notice a slight smell during this initial burn-off — that's normal and harmless. Just open a window for ventilation. After 15 minutes, your oven is ready for baking, roasting, or anything else you need.

We dismantle removable parts: racks, trays, side panels, fan covers, and door glass. These are soaked in a heated dip tank with our specialist degreasing solution. Meanwhile, we hand-scrub the oven interior (including ceiling, back wall, floor, and around the heating element) using non-abrasive tools. We clean the door's inner and outer glass, door seal, and handle. The hob (gas or induction) is degreased and polished. Finally, everything is reassembled, and we wipe down the exterior. Extractor fan cleaning is an optional add-on.

Yes, absolutely. Even self-cleaning ovens need professional maintenance occasionally. The pyrolytic cycle burns off food residue, but grease can accumulate behind the liners, fan housing, and door seals — areas the self-clean function doesn't reach. We carefully remove the catalytic panels (which can't be treated with chemicals or scraped) and hand-clean them with gentle methods. We then clean the cavity behind them. This is especially important if you notice smells or smoke during self-cleaning cycles. We treat pyrolytic ovens with extra care.

We use commercial-grade, biodegradable oven cleaners that are tough on grease but safe for your appliance and family. Our primary solution contains surfactants and degreasers that break down carbonised food without damaging enamel or glass. It has antibacterial properties, eliminating 99.9% of harmful pathogens. We also use a non-caustic, fume-free formula — no harsh lye or ammonia. All products are fully rinsed away, leaving no toxic residue. If you have chemical sensitivities, let us know in advance and we'll use an even gentler, hypoallergenic option.

We cover all London boroughs (within and outside the M25) plus a wide range of surrounding towns: Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, Southend-on-Sea, Rochester, Canterbury, Tonbridge, Redhill, Guildford, Southampton, Salisbury, Swindon, Bath, Reading, Slough, Hemel Hempstead, Luton, St Albans, Stevenage, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Coventry, Leicester, and many more. Enter your postcode to check if we serve your area. If not, we may have a trusted partner nearby.

For most households, we recommend professional cleaning every 6–12 months. Heavy users (daily cooking, roasting meats, baking) should aim for every 6 months. Light users (2–3 times a week) can stretch to once a year. Signs you're due: visible smoke when preheating, lingering burnt smells, slow heating times, or visible grease buildup. Regular professional cleaning also improves energy efficiency (clean ovens heat faster) and reduces fire risk from accumulated grease. We offer maintenance plans with discounted rates for twice-yearly cleans.

Absolutely. Our technicians arrive wearing disposable overshoes and lay protective sheets around your oven to catch any drips or splatters. After the job, we wipe down your kitchen floor where we worked and remove all protective materials. We also wipe the oven exterior, hob, and surrounding countertops. The only thing we leave behind is a sparkling clean oven. If any mess occurs despite our precautions, we clean it completely. Your kitchen will be in the same (or better) condition than when we arrived.

You can cancel or reschedule free of charge with at least 48 hours' notice before your appointment. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice incur a £30 fee to cover our technician's scheduled time and travel. Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be charged up to 50% of the service price. To cancel, log into your account or call our support team. We understand emergencies happen — contact us directly and we'll do our best to waive fees on a case-by-case basis.

We know your time is valuable. Our technicians receive live traffic updates and will call you if they're running more than 15 minutes late. You'll also receive SMS updates with their ETA. If they're delayed by more than 30 minutes due to circumstances within our control, we'll offer a £10 discount on your service. For extreme delays (over 60 minutes), you may reschedule free of charge or receive a 20% discount. We track punctuality metrics and constantly optimise our routes to minimise delays.

Yes — we offer complete appliance cleaning packages. Hob cleaning (gas, ceramic, induction) is often included with oven service. Extractor fan and filter cleaning is available as an add-on. Microwave interiors (including turntable and splatter guard) can be cleaned for an extra £15. For BBQs, we use the same dip tank method: disassembled grates, burners, and drip trays are soaked overnight, then hand-scrubbed and reassembled. You'll even receive a free Teflon oven liner with our BBQ cleaning service. View all appliance services →

We can install replacement parts you supply, but we don't stock or supply new bulbs, filters, or seals. If your oven light bulb is out, you can purchase a standard appliance bulb (E14 or similar) from any hardware store. Our technician will fit it for you at no extra charge during your cleaning appointment. Similarly, we can fit a new extractor fan carbon filter or grease filter if you provide it. We cannot source these parts for you — please buy them in advance if needed.

Yes — we highly recommend reusable Teflon oven liners. They sit on the bottom rack or directly on the oven floor to catch spills and drips, preventing baked-on messes. They're heat-resistant up to 260°C and dishwasher-safe. Shelf guards clip onto oven racks to stop pans from sliding. Both extend the time between professional cleans. As a thank-you, we include a free oven liner with every BBQ cleaning service, and you can purchase liners/guards directly from our technicians at a discount. Just ask!
